Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

An environmental impact assessment (EIA) is a critical process that evaluates the potential environmental effects of a hydropower project before it is developed.

One of the key projects that EPPL has undertaken is the Upper Chameliya Hydropower Project (60 MW) and the Middle Ghunsa HEP (31.31 MW). In order to ensure that these projects are carried out in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner, EPPL has provided environment impact assessment services.

Initial Environmental Examination (IEE)

EPPL provides Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) service which is a preliminary environmental assessment of the potential impacts of a proposed development project. 

EPPL has provided Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) service to over 10 hydropowers and transmission lines including the Hongu Khola 1 Hydropower Project (30 MW), Mristi Khola 2 Hydropower Project (12 MW), Midim 1 HEP 132 kV Transmission Line Project, and Hongu Khola 132 kV Transmission Line Project.

Acquisition Compensation and Relocation Plan

EPPL offers Acquisition Compensation and Relocation Plan (ACRP) including Resettlement and Rehabilitation Plan (RRP) services for hydropower projects, which aims to identify the compensation and relocation requirements of project-affected people. Our experienced team provides a comprehensive ACRP, including assessing compensation amounts and implementing the plan. EPPL’s goal is to ensure fair treatment and improved livelihoods for project-affected people while promoting environmental and social awareness among stakeholders.

Environmental monitoring, mitigation management and environmental auditing

EPPL) provides services for environmental monitoring, mitigation management and environmental auditing of hydropower and transmission line projects. EPPL’s experienced team of professionals performs regular monitoring of the project’s environmental conditions, identifies potential environmental impacts and risks, and develops mitigation measures to minimize or eliminate those impacts.
